What are the age requirements for renting a car in Oman?

Drivers must be at least 21 years old for standard cars. For luxury vehicles and SUVs, the minimum age is 25. A valid licence held for at least 2 years is required.

What documents do I need to rent a car?

A valid passport, driving licence or IDP, credit/debit card in the driver's name, and proof of residency (if applicable).

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes, basic insurance is included. Additional coverage like CDW and full protection can be added for extra cost.

What is included in the rental price?

Includes insurance, 200 km per day, roadside assistance, GPS (on request), and free delivery/pickup within the city. Fuel is not included.

What is your fuel policy?

Full-to-full policy. Return the car with a full tank or pay for missing fuel plus a small service fee.

Can I drive the rental car to other GCC countries?

Yes, with prior authorization and additional insurance/documentation. Extra fees apply.

How much is the security deposit?

No security deposit is required.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is 24 hours (1 day).

Can I extend my rental period?

Yes, subject to availability. Contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled return.

Do you offer delivery and pickup services?

Yes, delivery and pickup are available in Muscat & Salalah. Charges may apply for other locations.

Exactly what does your rental insurance cover?

Includes CDW and third-party liability. Does not cover off-road damage, tyres, or personal belongings unless upgraded.

Do you offer one-way rentals between Muscat and Salalah?

Yes, with a one-way fee of approximately OMR 50. Advance booking is required.

Is there a mileage limit on my rental?

200 km per day is included — extra kilometres are charged at a rate depending on your vehicle type.

Do you have child seats and booster seats available?

Yes, available on request. Charges may apply depending on the type required.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit cards, cash (OMR), and bank transfers. A credit card may be required for security purposes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a 50% fee. No-shows or same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

What happens if the car breaks down?

We provide 24/7 roadside assistance. If the vehicle cannot be fixed on-site, a replacement vehicle will be provided at no extra cost.

Can I drive with my home country licence?

Tourists can drive in Oman with a valid home country licence for up to 30 days. However, it is recommended to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP). GCC citizens can use their national licences without restrictions.

Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) to rent a car?

Depends on nationality. GCC and many Western licences are accepted. An IDP is recommended, especially if your licence isn't in English or Arabic. Some nationalities require it.

What are the road conditions like in Oman?

Oman has excellent road infrastructure with well-maintained highways. Mountain roads and desert tracks can be challenging, so 4WD vehicles are recommended for such areas.

What are the speed limits in Oman?

Speed limits are typically 120 km/h on highways, 100 km/h on main roads, 60–80 km/h in urban areas, and 40 km/h in residential zones. Speed cameras are widely used and fines are strictly enforced.

Is it safe to drive in the desert?

Desert driving requires experience. If inexperienced, hire a chauffeur. If self-driving, use a 4WD vehicle, carry water, inform someone of your route, and avoid soft sand without proper preparation.

What should I do in case of an accident?

Call the police immediately (ROP: 9999), contact the rental company, do not move the vehicle, take photos, and obtain a police report for insurance claims.

Is it safe to drive in Oman?

Yes, Oman is one of the safest countries for driving. Roads are well-maintained and rules are enforced, but caution is advised in mountains, deserts, and remote areas.

Can I drive to Jebel Shams or off-road locations?

Regular cars are not suitable. A 4x4 vehicle is required for mountain and off-road routes. Using non-4x4 vehicles may void insurance.

What should I do if I get a traffic fine?

You are responsible for fines during your rental. They can be paid online or will be charged to your card with an admin fee if unpaid.

Can I drive through wadis (dry riverbeds)?

Only with a 4x4 and in dry conditions. Never attempt during or after rain due to risk of flash floods. Always check weather conditions before entering wadis.

What are the traffic fine rules in Oman as a tourist?

Traffic fines are issued to the vehicle and charged to your card with an admin fee. Speed limits are strictly enforced. Seatbelts are mandatory and mobile phone use while driving is heavily fined.

Can I take a rental car to Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain)?

Access to Jebel Akhdar requires a 4x4 vehicle, enforced by police checkpoints. The road is steep and mountainous, so only suitable vehicles are allowed.

Can I take a 4x4 rental into Wahiba Sands or other off-road areas?

Yes, authorized 4x4 vehicles can be used with prior notice and proper insurance.

What is the best time of year to visit each region of Oman?

Muscat is best from October to April. Salalah is ideal during Khareef (June–September). Desert and mountain regions are best explored between October and April, while Jebel Akhdar is especially beautiful in spring.

What happens if the car breaks down in a remote area like the desert or mountains?

We coordinate assistance through local recovery teams. Response time in remote areas may take 2–4 hours. Always carry water, a charged phone, and inform someone of your route.

Are tour guides included in the tour packages?

Yes, all tour packages include experienced, licensed tour guides who speak English. Additional languages may be available on request.

What is included in the tour packages?

Tour packages include transportation in air-conditioned vehicles, professional driver/guide, entrance fees, bottled water & snacks, and hotel pickup/drop-off.

Can tours be customized?

Yes, we specialize in fully customized tours. You can tailor destinations, duration, and activities based on your interests and schedule.

How far in advance should I book a tour?

We recommend booking at least 3–5 days in advance. During peak tourist season (October to April), earlier booking is advised to ensure availability.

How far in advance should I book during Khareef season in Salalah?

During Khareef season (June–September), booking 4–6 weeks in advance is recommended, and 8–12 weeks for peak months (July–August). Demand is very high during this period.

What chauffeur services do you provide?

We provide professional chauffeur services including airport transfers, business travel, city tours, full-day and multi-day trips, and corporate transportation. All chauffeurs are licensed, experienced, and English-speaking.

How much does the chauffeur service cost?

Pricing depends on duration and service type. Hourly rates start from OMR 8/hour (minimum 4 hours), full-day service from OMR 60, and airport transfers from OMR 15. Monthly and multi-day packages are also available.

What is the minimum booking period?

The minimum booking for hourly chauffeur service is 4 hours. For longer trips, full-day (8 hours) or multi-day packages are recommended.

Are chauffeurs available 24/7?

Yes, chauffeur services are available 24/7. Bookings between 10 PM and 6 AM may include a night surcharge.

Can I have the same chauffeur for my entire trip?

Yes, a dedicated chauffeur can be assigned for your entire stay, subject to availability. This is ideal for multi-day tours and business travel.

What is included in your chauffeur service?

The service includes a professional driver, a well-maintained vehicle, fuel, and insurance. Chauffeurs are punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable about local routes and attractions.

Can I book a chauffeur for airport pickup?

Yes, airport pickup service is available. We track your flight and provide meet-and-greet service at arrivals, including luggage assistance and direct transfer to your destination.

Do you offer airport meet-and-greet service?

Yes, we provide meet-and-greet service at the airport with a driver waiting at arrivals holding a name sign. Flight tracking is included.
